Getting to Arnhem

The best way into the city.

You have to pay for parking in Arnhem city centre. The central ring road is easy to access from the motorways and other roads. This one-way ring road encircles the city centre. Car parks and parking areas are all located along this central ring road. If you are coming by car, the signs on the central ring road will guide you to the car parks and inform you how many parking spaces are available. It is just a few minutes walk from any of the car parks and parking areas to the shops in the city centre.

Transferium Gelredome
Transferium Gelredome is a free car park for 645 cars. If you park in the Transferium Gelredome, you can take bus 7 to the city centre. You will be charged the standard public transport rate. Bus 88 also stops at the Transferium.

Public transport
Arnhem has four train stations: These are Centraal, Velperpoort, Presikhaaf and Arnhem-Zuid. These stations can be reached by local trains from Ede-Wageningen, Zutphen, Nijmegen, Tiel and Winterswijk. Arnhem Centraal station can be reached by InterCity from Amsterdam (Schiphol), The Hague, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Ede-Wageningen, 's-Hertogenbosch, Nijmegen, Zwolle and Cologne (HSL) in Germany.

Arnhem central station (Centraal) is located within walking distance of the city centre (5 minutes). This is also where the central bus station is located for city and regional bus services. Arnhem is the only city in the Netherlands where a trolley bus operates. This bus will take you to, among other places, the city centre. Besides stopping at the Central Station, a lot of buses also stop at Rijnstraat, Willemsplein and Velperplein. These stops all border the city centre.
